she had a good time calling Whitney a “crackhead”.

… it’s like she couldn’t wait to say it.

So we have a new VS playlist in the store & it features Whitney’s “I Will Always Love You”. Well, I mentioned that I missed her & continued to sing along, until my manager interrupts my moment of homage to Whitney.

I said in front of her that I missed Whitney & of course hearing the song gets me a little teary eyed. So she goes:

“Why? We all know she was a crackhead! She got what she deserved in the end… you can’t talk about going to church & then turn around & do drugs… She deserved what she got.”

There was more but I tuned her out because of my frustration. All I could say (WITHOUT LOSING MY JOB), while giving her a cold ass stare, was: “She was trying to get help but she got caught up, she’s not the first & certainly won’t be the last celeb to make that mistake…”

My manager proceeds to tell me not to get mad, but it was too late for that shit. I think she was telling me not to get mad b/c she was telling the “truth”. Now if I were to mention people like Kurt Cobain or Amy Winehouse, I don’t think I would’ve heard a damn thing come out of her mouth!

My father said that it’s funny how a lot of white folks are quite to write off black celebs or black folks in general when they mess up, but as soon as you mention one of their favs they are quick to defend them. I was LIVID. Still am. I REALLY SHOULD’VE HAVE BLACKED OUT ON HER, I MEAN FORREAL.
